The recent wave of films based on comics makes me wonder about that, but there just doesn't seem to be the broad appeal that is so central to most of Disney's franchises. Even more 'narrow' brands that Disney has (Faries, princesses) haveenough variety to them that it's hard to not find at least one relatable character that you kind of like. With superheros, I think it's just too easy to see them all as the same, and make up some excuse to have no interest in them at all. That's what's happened to me.

I don't think it's appropriate to sit in the middle of one fan community and lob spitballs at the other just because we and our friends aren't into what they and their friends are into. That being said, I am not even marginally interested in anything to do with Marvel, and I think it will be a disaster if they're planning to integrate any Marvel properties into the existing theme parks. Hopefully they'll be content to just keep cashing Universal's royalty checks.

I'm not all that sure what Disney can do with them, though. IMO, it's a great fit, the visuals they will be able to do with this character will be amazing.... It makes sense for Pixar to be looking at some of Marvel's "C" characters to get the treatment, allowing them to be very liberal with the telling of the story, if they took someone well known they would be contrained by a known story... By using an unknown hero, Pixar will be able to do what they always do... make magic happen...

But that said, I've seen Pixar do ants, and I've seen them do super heros, so thus far, this rumor doesn't get me all that excited.
