I just finished watching all 10 seasons of Friends over winter break and I noticed they mention it a lot.

    Anyone else?

Like the Friends episode where Monica (or Rachel) says "You wouldn't go to Disneyland and spend all day on the Matterhorn would you?"

Which always made me wonder why Disneyland was mentioned so much in Friends and not WDW. I guess even though it's set on the East coast, it's filmed on the West coast, with a west coast mentality.

This has no doubt been mentioned before, but this line has always irked me. How hard is it to say the right year? :p

Also, I know the sitcom Wings mentioned Disneyland a few times, even though the show takes place on Nantucket.

Well you know we all have to be careful here with the TV spots. Afterall Disney does own ABC and I have noticed that the shows on ABC mention Disney of some sort ALL THE TIME.

For example, Regis and Kelly broadcast at WDW once a year and just the other day I saw Millionaire being filmed at the MGM Studios for TV. The whole Super Bowl spots and all that, not to mention Disney is referred to often on ESPN.

I think its awesome, but come on, who HASN'T atleast heard of Disney? Just the other day I was talking to a friend and she said that there was one girl in her daughters class that had never been to Disney, and she is taking that other girl and her daughter this Spring Break just because she has never been.

It's so funny, not only do we hear and see the name mentioned everywhere, but us faithful actually go out of our way to bring new Disney sheep into the fold!

Also, I know this is a long post but I read recently that EPCOT is one of the best value for your money of all parks on Earth. ConsumerReports.com and that DL was the cleanest and had the best staff (CM) and that Knotts was among the most disappointing. Which I thougt was unfair but hey...

I'm always amused when I'm watching something on ABC, like Extreme Home Makeover or Wife Swap, and there will always be some piece of Disney merchandise in the background sometime during the episode, or someone will be wearing a piece of Disney clothing. It kind of reminds me of going to the movies and they show pictures of yummy popcorn and ice cold soda on the screen.

"You want a Mickey snowglobe. You will buuuuuy a Mickey snowglobe...."

    ;)

I'd occasionally see it used on TV.

These days, the term "E ticket" seems to have dropped off the radar as far as something that's generally known in American society, and only hardcore Disney fans seem to know what it means any more.

Not many. Disney is a name known around the world... Or at least certainly Mickey Mouse. It's up there in recognition like Coca Cola.

I know plenty of people who have never set foot in a Disney theme park, including a few not so distant relatives.

E-Ticket don't really hear that term much. All i hear now is "Uber".

I hear Disneyworld a lot more, everyone I knew growing up went to Disneyworld, we kept going to Disneyland. I got jealous of Epcot, etc back then.

Well now it's different I haven't been to DL in over 2 years. heh
