Mine had to be 2/12/07 for my birthday. My friend, who works at the Junior Chef, explained to Goofy about my love for him. So we're on Main Street and there's Goofy. We head over and he's entertaining us and lavishing attention on me. Then when there's a crowd of 20+ families and tourists, he proposes and pushes my wheelchair to the City Hall for 'Just Married' buttons. That had to be the best birthday ever. Sometimes, if I'm lucky. The Goofy that married me will take my hand and carass or kiss it. A real gem! X3

At one point she even grabbed a sprig of pine bough and was holding it, with her arms crossed over her chest, like a lily. When the young man left she came over to me and started examining my lanyard. There were a few fairly hard to get cast exclusive trading pins on the lanyard and she pointed to one of the pins and then pointed back and forth between the two of us as if to ask, "Are you a CM?" Sadly, I told her no, that I just had a few good friends that were CM's. She then gave me a very nice hug. I knew it was an honest hug and not just a "character" hug. That's what made it so special.

Far more recent was an encounter with Snow White's evil queen in Fantasyland. She was every inch the quintessential queen. Terrific actress who never once broke character. I sure wish I knew who she was.

Dismaying, any chance of you posting that pic? Tinkeroon and I have made our own observations, over the years, that Disney personalities tend to make for long marriages and relationships, where couples not only stay together, they remain in love too. Congratulations to both you and LilliBelle.

He came right up to me, wagging his tail, threw his arms (paws?) around me, and hugged me, licking my face. I started cyring and Pluto just got it. He stayed and played with me for the longest time... I am totally blown away by the intuitiveness of some of the CM's and their gift for communicating. I will never, ever forget that moment in DL...

Years later, when my whole family met up in DL, people thought that my playing with Pluto in ToonTown was "part of the act" - ! My brother got some great video of that encounter...

But I do have to say that I loved meeting Merlin, when I pulled the sword out of the stone, he pranced me around like I was actual royalty!!! I'll never forget that day, I still have my medallion hanging on my wall.

    Very special Day!

It was a rainy gray day and the characters would come and go over behind where Rodd's Pizza is now. There must have been 8 or nine characters playing with my son in the table areas and Josh was having a blast - well all the characters went back stage so while we ate and were looking at the map about a half hour went by and out came new characters (well they were the same people in new outfits). So out come some of the dwarfs and goofy and a couple others and they come right back up to Josh to start right where the left off - well Josh didn't know what to do and absolutely freaked out crying and screaming. The characters felt so bad they all sat at a couple tables with their heads down until Josh calmed down and slowly meandered his way over to them!! It was so special that they spent so much time with him (the park was practicly empty and we were the only ones in that area for the whole hour and a half...

The first few that come to mind (I'll probably add more as I think of them):

    1) The time Cinderella signed my daughter's autograph book in front of the castle and called her by name. We had never met her before (have since and she always remembers her name). I asked my husband how she did that? He noticed while she glanced at the other autographs, she saw our daughter's name in the front of the book. Pretty sneaky!

    2) We next saw Aurora in front of her castle. She stopped her line to have a tea party conversation with our then 3-year old -- as her line continued to grow longer.

    3) Fast Forward to a miserable January day in 2006 (January 1st). The characters hung around inside the lobby of the theater on Main Street (sadly now the expanded Mad Hatter gift shop) and played games the entire day. I think this was the only time we went to Disney without leaving Town Center. Wonderland, Neverland, the Fab Five, and a few others played Hedgehog, hedgehog, flamingo; Mad Hatter Magic Tricks; Cha-ra-des; and more. That is when we truly fell in love with all the characters. That is also the day we got a picture with us and the Fab Five.

    4) The number one character encounter goes to our farewell from our January 2006 trip. Alice and the Mad Hatter had us in tears as they spent 15 minutes walking around Town Center picking flowers with our daughter so she had something to bring home with her to remember them by. They walked us to the exit. We were leaving at 10 that day to catch a flight back home (sob, sob, sob). Alice and the Mad Hatter gave us a special farewell, one we will never forget. We crushed the flowers and put them in a frame with Alice and our daughter riding the tea cups.

Yes, there are lots more. This is why we fly from NJ to California without ever thinking about going to WDW instead.

DD8 was about 4 and had been napping in the stroller (we were open to close the day before). We came out of the Castle right as Cinderella was coming back from tea and ended up second or third in line to see her. We really didn't want to wake Calista, but as Cinderella leaned down to snap a quick photo with my sleeping Princess - Calista sat up and started smiling at Cinderella - then she proceded to tell Cinderella how much she enjoyed the new movie and how she was so happy that Cinderella decided to do it - without missing a beat Cinderella told Calista she was so happy she liked the movie and how she was so nervous about making a second movie and wasn't sure if it was a good idea or not, there was quite a line forming and the "handler" told Cinderella and Calista maybe they could talk more about the movie later...
The following September we were at the Princess Breakfast and up walks Cinderella right to our table and she looks at Calista and tells her she's been looking for her since the breakfasts had started and she is so happy she made it to one - I figured it was a general line - but then she said, Are you still watching my second movie and do you want to talk about it some more...
We were there for Calista's birthday and you couldn't have seen bigger smile on a little girls face when she realize Cinderella had remembered her from a couple of months earlier!!

Okay another one ... I was talking to Bert and Mary Poppins about their Broadway show. I realized I slipped when I asked Bert if he enjoyed it. As I tried to apologize for the slip, but Bert said (without skipping a beat), "Ashley Brown plays Mary, and Gavin MacLaod plays me. He does a fantastic job." Fantastic might not have been the right word, it might have been "bang up" or something more British sounding, but the gist was the same. He is the true Bert and everyone else is just playing him.

It is amazing how they stay in character all while holding conversations and reacting to everything that happens at Disney.

TALL Disney Guy, I was referring to the CM inside the costume. Typically, Chip and Dale are female CM's and that hug left *absolutely no doubt* in my mind that day.

I loved Pluto so much, we gave him a present. All the CM's at Goofy's Kitchen were so surprised and I ended up making several friends that night. :)

Another great character memory was when I met the Bowler Hat Guy from 'Meet the Robinsons'. After seeing the movie, I sorta fell in love with the BHG. So I made it a quest to see him before the characters left the park. I went and couldn't find them, but the CH said he'd be out till 4. I go on Monster's Inc. and return afterwards & see the same CH again, but she says he went home for the day. I feel sad and sit on a bench to text my brother that I would wait for him while he went on the Tower of Terror. *HATE THAT RIDE!* so I wait and I pluck this flower from a pot and just wait for at least Wilbur and Lewis to come out. I see Wilbur and rush over and explain my situation and handed him the flower. He took it and gave his head a nod in a way that meant, 'follow me'. I do and there's BHG! I freeze and Wilbur goes over and hands him the flower and points to me. The tall villain walks over, wipes his mouth and wraps a hand in my hair and I get kissed! I mean, he was pressing the mouth of the mask against my lips. I laughed and returned the kiss and looked at him like, "Buh... you're dreamy!"

We got a picture and he's stroking my hair and I'm looking evil as ever. Even holding the flower. XD I think Wilbur and Lewis were like, "WHAT THE...??? come on! We're handsome!"

Up until this point he had only seen the negative reactions to his hair loss, Disneyland taught him what I have been telling him since the beginning that he was special. Every princess would give him a kiss, my favorite DLR pic ever is of Snow White kissing the top of my son's head like Dopey, she held his ears & everything. Cinderella was on her way out & she stopped to come over to him & kiss his head. Now he has never had a thing for princesses but he loved every min of it. Captain Hook was great to him too. He was exhausted but the end of the day & I had cried so much I was puffy. That will stay with me forever.

Another great day was last year. Must have been a slow days cause we couldn't get rid of the characters. They went on rides with, chatted & played games. My kids loved it. Since the day my twins were born they were nick-named Snow White & Cinderella because they "looked" like them so when H&H got on the carousel
last year & Snow White sat next to Hannah & Cinderella & her Prince sat on either side of Hayley I thought they were gonna faint. I even got a picture of Hayley flirting with the Prince & Cinderella in the background really looks like she is mad. :eek:p My girls still talk about that day.

This is what Disneyland is all about.)
