With MHP, Paint the Night is being run rather than the Cavalcade. Mostly, though, the ticketed event has been left intact.

The real fiasco, however, is during the day. One hopes that at least Jack and Sally will be out, but seriously, Disney - that duo could (if them, even!) be it for character appearances?

It was widely suspected, and now officially announced, that there will be no Halloween Carnival in BTRJ. So, you get to pay full price for a shortened day in Disneyland Park, see some pumpkins on Main Street buildings, go on 2 rides with overlays, and see how an early performance of Soundsational screws up the crowds that are trying to squeeze some value out of the cost of admission.

That being said, I'm glad we went to the Halloweed party last year.

Were there some, um, illicit "goodies" being given out to the adults?? :)

I'd hope that they might bring back some of the smaller things that have disappeared through the years, like the Pumpkin Festival interactive show on Main Street that disappeared after the first year. It would be great, but I'm not holding my breath

After nine years of using the same pumpkins and bunting on Main Street, it's time for a change. I look forward to seeing what they come up with.

Otherwise, the only change to HalloweenTime this year is that the Halloween Festival back at the Ranch is not being offered. Since that area will become the entrance to Star Wars Land, it's time to say goodbye to that seasonal offering.

I remember that Candy Corn Acres setup they had in DCA's unfortunate Sunshine Plaza, but I had no idea the show could get that bad.

I still think it's funny that they chose the farm theme for the decorations, knowing that the Sunshine Plaza wasn't going to last forever. The intent was to shift everything over to the Bountiful Valley Farm area once the transition started, and have that be the focus of DCA's Halloween. As we know, that area was all but eliminated for Carsland, and DCA has hardly had any Halloween festivities since all the construction began ~5 years ago. Kind of ironic, since DCA had more than DL in the early years, including the hard ticket parties and neat additions to the TOT area

I must confess that I found the Halloween party at DCA a little more enjoyable than the parties that are now held at Disneyland. The parties seemed a bit more upbeat and fun over at DCA.
