You do not have to book the return pickup from hotel ahead of time as you do the Super Shuttle. DL Express picked up on the hour at the DL hotel....and were very prompt!! I figured an hour for travel time (my flight was early Sunday morning, so knew traffic would be lighter), figured what time I needed to be at the airport, and caught the appropriate DL Express. When you take the bus from LAX to Paradise Pier, you can ask the driver about recommened travel time, what time they pick up at PP, etc. They will give you a return voucher and are VERY helpful.
