Looking for temps above freezing to help with training. Hard to get motivation to go out and run when it is only 19 degrees outside.

Good luck with your training :)

I'm with sunNrailfall. I have a tough time getting up in those 40 deg mornings here in Phoenix to train. Although my training for the Disneyland Half is during a Phoenix summer, so I guess I run in the other extreme.

The 5k usually goes through both parks. It's fun, no times!

I'm not a runner by any means, so I don't intend to really run any of the races, but I think that finishing them within the allotted time would still be pretty cool. And if I do the Goofy next year, I'll have to do the DL half too, to get the Coast-to-Coast medal. If I'm crazy enough to register for the Goofy one, I think I'll just have to do the one in DL too...

You should sign up as soon as registration goes up, because it sells out pretty quickly. It's a lot of miles, but a lot of fun. You may want to try Jeff Galloway's plan (probably what "-em" is referring to. His training plans are great for beginners through experienced runners.)
You can do it! I think you should go for it!!!

I was planning on doing some other races along the way to help the training out, since there are a ton in the soCal area. And I would ceratinly hope that a full year would be enough time to get ready for the big days. : )

And as much as I would love to do the Food and Wine 1/2 this year (or even just go to the Food and Wine Festival at all), I don't think I can take that much time off work. I would definitely rather do the more rediculous one; anything worth doing is worth overdoing.

i found it helpful to do back to back long runs during training for goofy-to get ready for the fatigue of back to back races. most importantly get fitted for the right shoe at a running store, it makes all the difference in training.

She said that she is unware of any coupon codes out there, but I did save $10 on the processing fee by signing up at the expo. I told her I was hoping for a break in price, especially for those that have supported it for years (like you Legacy Runners). No dice, except for of course signing up early. The course map they were showing was exactly the same as last year, but did say "subject to change".

She also said that they are working on a spring-race, maybe for spring 2012, at Disneyland. No more details than that.
