A perfect example why AP's have a totally false sense of entitlement. Orlandoboi has the right attitude. AP's get into the Park's for literally pennies a day, basically free entry. They don't deserve anything more than that. No "special air conditioned AP Lounge with free Coke's and Arrowhead and comfy couches where we can talk to like-minded people". No fabulous discounts at all the best restaurants. No special perks or private parties. No fawning from CM's. No special treatment. Back on topic... I'm amazed that they are raising the prices 2 bucks. But then the Parks have been very busy the past month or two, with the gorgeous winter weather we've been having. And since it now appears that there wasn't actually a "recession", as formally labeled as two continuous fiscal quarters of negative growth, people have certainly recovered their mid-priced entertainment spending after September 11th. Even though there is nothing new... the Parks have actually scaled back on operating hours by a few hours a day (Disneyland doesn't even stay open until Midnight anymore, for the first time since the 50's!)... and several major attractions look to be down for the count for months and months to come (Splash and Limo, in addition to the other regular E Ticket rehabs still coming this Spring)... I guess they can get away with a ticket increase of a healthy two bucks. Maybe a 50 dollar ticket for the 50th Anniversary is an easy reach now.

Just a dry statement with the figures on it? Or was there a gushing PR piece from a talking head to go with it? I'd love to hear any sort of official justification for this price increase, since they have slashed operating hours of Parks, Lands and individual Attractions, cut back on Parades and entertainment, and have several attractions closed for the long term at both Parks.

"I never seem to have enough ways to give my money to Disney," said long time fan Olivia Jones. "They just made it easier for me to contribute to the cause!" A few cynics dismissed the charge as a token effort to make it seem as though Disneyland was worth more than ever. "But they won't fool me!" shouted an angry Jimmy Smith. "I'm not coming into this place until it costs $75! Then I'll know it's really improved in there!" Harris denied that next year, the resort will start charging for individual rides once the guest is inside the park. "Now, now, that would be telling, wouldn't it?" she said with a wink. "Let's just say that by next year, the Disney experience will be worth more than ever!" ###
