Still, the fact that this program might miss 1 or 2 percent of people who deserve it doesn't lessen what a cool gesture it is.

For that statement to apply, would not a gift have to be given to the one in fact looking the horse in the mouth?

It would apply if I were a firefighter and I complained that I was ONLY given a 3 day park hopper. But that is not the case.

The point I am making is many military persons (active and reserve) put their lives on hold to do many of the same jobs the first responders did, while being paid much less in most cases. Shouldn't they also be recognized.

    Maybe I'm wrong......

When a LEO goes in to do their job, half the people are for them, and half are against them.
I have LEOs, FFs, and military in my family. The members of my family who are FFs live in the nicest houses in some of the nicest neighborhoods, drive the nicest cars, and have all the toys to go along with it. They themselves even admit they're doing just fine.
The LEOs and military personnel, not so much. They do okay, but don't have nearly the lifestyle that the FFs in the family do.
It's nice to see the LEOs acknowledged in this promotion too. They deserve it every bit as much for the danger potential involved in their jobs, not to mention the hassle they have to put so often up with members of our community. It's nice to see Disney honoring them.
    My opinion.
