Any suggestions on things for us to do that I might not have thought of since I always have kids with me?

I ate there last Friday, and was able to watch the Electrical Parade as my friends polished off the excellent pairings of blue cheeses and ports. Of course, the Blue Bayou is great, if you don't plan on drinking.

Oh course my kids are aged 16 and up now. BUT without kids you can eat when and where you want. It is lunchtime and you are not super hungry for a meal but those white chocolate raspberry cookies across from Splash mountain with a iced coffee or mocha would hit the spot.....so not doable with kids but with adults.,......oh yea ;)

We are actually going in May with friends and we are leaving kids at home!!! :)

Shopping with out kids saying, "You done yet?"

We went with a couple good friends and had a LOT of fun, but it just wasn't the same....not to mention that our pictures weren't even close to being as awesome and entertaining with just the the wife and I. Half the fun of the pictures after a trip is seeing all the silly looks and tired faces and cute little smiles the kids have in all the different pictures.

With that being said, you WILL have a blast. Take some time to just sit on a bench in the different lands and soak in the atmosphere. Just being able to take the parks at a slower pace will be nice. Enjoy yourself and hopefully you'll come back with a greater appreciation for your family like my wife and I did.

Some of our faves include a leisurely dinner (as mentioned above!), closing the parks as many nights as we can, the Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues (Sunday morning), adult beverages in the pier area of DCA, and the knowledge that we can do whatever we want whenever we want to. We also try to see shows and stop to enjoy street performers, etc., that our kids sometimes want to race by on the way to something else.

    Enjoy!!

It was weird, though, because being there with our girls (we have 3) is such a blessing. The thing is that we love our kids and they love us. We actually all get along really well and really enjoy each other's company.

I have also been to DL with a friend and a cousin. I had a good time, I am not sorry I went, but I like it better with my family or my husband.
