And, just as the dying will amuse themselves to escape the despair of their inevitable end, so is Disney frivolously ignoring the work it needs to do to renew and even just maintain the spirit of its aging World.

    It’s Disney’s “Danse Macabre.”

The dance procession leads off with Jay and Meg, then filters slowly down through the company ranks with each one thrashing about in wild gyrations as they participate together in a grotesque, horrifying choreography. The motions are all well known. What are they? They are anything that kills the magic…every little compromise and cut that wound like tiny daggers in your back. The minions rush in with more and more knives, while the execs call from the front of the dance, “Come celebrate with us! Come drink the wine of our folly!” The dance winds on and on ensnaring more and more unsuspecting travelers as deep darkness begins to fall. Finally, as the minions finish off the last of those ensnared by the horrible dance the leaders at the front fly away just before the night swallows all that remains.
