DL HOTEL renovation starts tomorrow

Its a long renovation to last 2.5 years so maybe the changes to the hotels common areas will come later towards the end.

    Why are the doing half of a tower at a time? I guess it's to keep more rooms open, but it doesn't make any sense that people would be OK with staying in a tower that's half under construction. From what I've gathered there really won't be anything minor about this renovation, so I would expect it will be pretty darn loud for the people staying in the same tower as the construction.

    Oh sure, they'll do something, but I fear that it will just be cosmetic. Unless they plan to raise the ceilings in the lobby considerably and tear out some of those ugly and dated shops and restaurants around the pool, I don't see much to get excited about.

    Didn't the DLH get an extensive renovation right before DCA opened?

    We stayed at the Hilton during a convention - they did there remodel a floor at a time. We were right about the floor they were working on, a friend was a floor below. It was not a fun experience!

    Oh yeah, they got rid of my favorite souvenir shop when they did.
