But the last 2 years, we went for a week to WDW for the first time. The service is MAGICAL there. Even the housekeepers were smiling and said nice things to us in the hallway EVERY time we saw them. The stores were cleaner, the CMs went out of their way for every guest. They never broke character.

Then last week we went to DL for a week. While I wouldn't say the CMs were rude in the least, they just weren't magical. I found myself listening to conversations about their boyfriends/girlfriends/work schedules, etc. Also, they seem like they need more help keeping the stores straightened out. This was the first trip to either park that I thought the stores were a mess. (And it was not the end of the day.)

Please don't get me wrong. I LOVE LOVE LOVE DL. I was just wondering if it was me or if anyone else noticed.

On the other hand, on my entire 10 days at WDW I only heard one CM talk about their personal drama on stage. And at Disneyland I'd hear that 10 times durring the few hours that I am there.

WDW CM's, to me, really cared about their jobs and the fact that they worked for DISNET. It didn't seem to be like it was the only part time job they managed to get.

I'd rather have CM's with red finger nails and great attitudes than CM's who wear their whole costume correctly and flip me an attitude.

In tomorrowland a Cast Member pushed his cart in front of our path. We had to stop walking and go around him. Before and after Fantasmic the Cast Members were shouting to the crowd "move to the left", "one way traffic". I never heard a Please or Por Favor uttered. Today while walking around Grizzly Flats, in front of the Grand Californian entrance to DCA... I was walking and a female Cast Member was walking backwards leading a group of children, she walked right into me. Do the Cast Members at DL even say "Have a Magical Day"?

Not unless they're upset with you. At least I've never heard it and only heard cast members talking about using it as kind of an "@#$% You!" if you know what I mean...

I know not all CM's are this bad but in Anaheim the percentage that are rude, have no clue or just want to talk about their weekend plans on stage are SO much higher than they should be. I have a real hard time finding genuinly friendly CM's anymore. I'm a former CM and my boyfriend is a current one... I've seen all too well some of the people that work there and their attitudes towards guest. Makes me kind of sad, actually.

I am really, really sorry they put a downbeat on your vacation, KT and KJ.

Seems like an exaggeration to me. I know there are lots of bad or indifferent CM's (too many, I agree), but I find the overwhelming majority to be friendly and helpful.

    Just my $0.02.

I agree with you 100%, with the exception of going to St Louis, never been there. :D
