This online process will promote a fair, equitable and enjoyable experience for Guests visiting the Disneyland Resort. The "Piece of Disney History II - Disneyland Railroad" will be the first pin to use the new process, and currently scheduled for release on Sunday, January 24th, at the Little Green Store Command inside Disneyland Park.<<

It seems like it would be easier to just print off a unique barcode (like when you buy tickets online) and take that into the park, where they can scan it and give you the pin. If they have to mail you a wristband, why couldn't they just mail you the pin?

    Probably not.

I believe that they only hold the pins until about 1pm currently & if you don't redeem your wristband by then, the extras are released to the general public.

Doubt they will be setting aside pins for those for those who didn't make it the day the pin was released.

I could be wrong, but Disney usually wants their money & holding the pin back is reducing the revenue on the off chance that the person WILL be coming in.

Don't believe you are buying the pin ahead of time.

Think of it as just "getting in line for a wristband", but you don't have to get up at the crack of dawn. You're getting the virtual equivalent of a wristband.

You'll still have to go to the park to pay for & pick up the pin.

I think most of the people that buy pins have APs of one sort or another. I think Tandelothien has it right. They want you to come in and spend a little more than just the pins.
