Their lineup of attractions has improved over the years...though focused a lot on "thrill". They have a waterpark that is a separate admission. Food is among the best in the industry and reasonably priced. Finally, I love the Smoky Mountains so the location is unrivaled. There is a good chance you will meet some of Dolly's relatives while you are in the park.

Some of the buildings, however, are very authentic in the way they were built and the overall theme of the entire park works well. The live entertainment (if you're into Country/Western or Gospel) is some of the best in the industry. And the food is good and resonably priced. It's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area.
