I have seem them used for other purposes.

For example, WDW gives its cast a sneak peak at party parades and fire works before the general public is allowed to view them. Usually, when we go to view these events (I've personally seen the cast preview to Halloween, Christmas, and PnP) we enter the park at the back of toontown and are held off until all guests are out of the park and all, then we're allowed down Main Street and into the Hub.. there we wait.

After the parade and/or fireworks, we're not allowed to leave via back stage routes like we entered. CMs leave and we got on buses at the resort bus stop at MK, all buses being Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck. They then take us to cast parking. Its so the tunnels aren't flooded with people, which would be a veeeeery bad thing, especially since a lot of CMs don't know how to nagivate it correctly.

But, because I work on Main Street I'm always there working the parties. x_x I've worked every Pirate and Princess party since it started.

I've almost got the parade song memorized...

I'm just curious, it sounds like a fun time.

And because everybody's a CM and they know a lot of people in the parade, there's a lot of energy in the air. People really are having a good time together.

I'm impressed by how non-raucous the events are, compared to what you'd get in the real world. The CM guests are having fun, they laugh, clap and cheer more than what guests do during the day. But they're not boisterous. Even the parade performers stay fully in character the whole time.

Afterwards there must have been 30-40 busloads of people shuttled back to cast parking.

Anyway, ssWEDguy got it about right...

Main Street is packed and the Hub is mostly full, though not so much. During the PnP preview me and my friends were at the hub, right infront of the castle. We weren't dissapointed since we saw the amazing fireworks up close. I see the fireworks often, and being closer to the castle is indeed the better view in the house.

And yes, theres A LOT of energy. We're CMs, we're here to make the magic come true, so when we see our favorite princess there's a lot of screaming, yelling, jumping up and down.

You shoulda heard the yells when Jack Sparrow came down the road. x_x

    'scuse me, Captain Jack Sparrow.

Anyway, they're a lot of fun. =) I'm sure its also a morale boost for the parade cast to see so many people happy to see a brand new parade and jumping around like goof balls.
