I've been getting listings from Zip Realty for a couple years of properties under $500K in my area. Only this year have there been any single family homes in that range (they've only been condos previously). I just searched and there are 20 single family homes under 1/2 million, and many have been on the market 4-5 months with substantial price reductions. Less than a year ago, this was unheard of!
