I try to be patient thinking he may speed up, but finally decide to just go around him. Keep in mind this is four lanes, so I'm not risking lives by passing him -- I am just changing into the lefthand lane. I need to get back in front of him, though, because my turn-off is soon. (And I had a feeling he would turn off, too, and it's just a two-lane road... so that's part of the reason I wanted to get ahead of him while I could. Didn't want to get trapped behind him forever.)

As I speed up, I get to 80mph and still can't pass him. WHY DO PEOPLE DO THAT? I could barely get around him to make my turn off, and then he slowed wayyyyyyyyy back down and was miles behind me a few minutes later.

If I'm going slower than someone likes, I'd rather they go around me than have them tailgate or get frustrated. Fine -- go! I couldn't care less. I never play games and speed up so they can't pass, especially when they haven't done anything rude or inconsiderate.

Why is everyone so aggressive? California's probably one of the worst states for that.

Not the end of the world or anything, it just annoys me and makes me wonder WHY?

YOu should also have your mirrors adjusted so that it does not require a head turn but a simple eye movement. Very simple. But again, the basics of driving elude some.

And the reason why? Because anyone who can use a blinker and find the gas and can pay the fee can get a drivers license. Not enough training is required by the state. Also no mandatory retests and training every year. So peoples bad driving become habits. Remember, practice makes permanent.

So mainly the person might not have been a jerk, but still their fault none the less.

I must say I had a GREAT chuckle the other day as finally someone got pulled over.

This chickie with her white plastic shades in her BIG SUV was weaving in and out trying to get another car length ahead. Well, we here in AZ got these protected painted triangular areas at the beginning and ending of the on/off ramp called "Gore Points." Unfortunately a law had to be passed because a DPS officer was killed assisting a motorist in this zone a few years back.

I watched her pull a Jeff Gordon and slide down below the gore point line while right ahead of her on the shoulder a DPS Trooper had someone else pulled over on the shoulder. BOO-YA he starts pointing for her to pull over.

After 10 years of driving this road to work this is the first time I have got to witness this beautiful site -

a cop where and when you needed them!

I wish there were some way to signal people to turn off their blinkers. Some universal hand sign, other than the one I use when I'm upset.

I understand that in some states, this vehicular move is illegal. This is California, and it is not illegal.

If I can read online the basic road rules for a state I happen to be visiting (I always forget if you can right-on-red in Vegas), then all y'all can do it when you visit CA.

Not always the case. Some cities, including Pasadena (or at least it was) has a no right on red law. Basically, just follow the signage. Dont see a sign that say no turn, than you are safe.

Yes, exactly. Read the signs, too. You know what else I hate? You know those signs that say no left turn from 7-9am and from 4-7pm? If it's 2 pm, IT'S OKAY!!! Don't go honking at me, people.

Another peave, those who lane wander, first off it's not hard to stay in the centre of a lane, and Joe not all of these drivers are drunk. Also the "middle lane" loafers on the highway, generally I thought passing was in the passing lane, slow drivers should stay in the slow lane. Many of these loafers get very mad when you pass them. Third are those that don't signal as said here before, or those that signal as they turn. The turn-signal is an advanced warning device, I can see you're turning as you turn. Let me know you're going to turn. Another one is those that listen to loud music outside of the hospital, believe it or not those please turn off engine, and quiet please signs are actually there for a reason. As well how about drivers who are busy on the cell phone? If you're going to use the cell phone pull over, it's not hard. The 2 times I was rear ended low and behold both drivers were talking on the phone. As well when the light changes, please react don't sit there as everyone in the other lanes drive. Also don't tailgate please.

No, thats called driving the car in front. It happens alot in racing. YOu see one car go off the road a little bit and than boom the car right behind them takes the same line. Its because people get focused on the car in front and drive their line instead of their own line.

Mine is people not being conciderate to motorcyclists. In california, lane sharing is legal. So dont block them or try to "trap" them.

Then some car zooms up behind me and starts flashing their lights at me to get over. Dude, im already going too fast as it is!

Also the other day I was on a four lane road, and I was in the left lane. A guy on my right has his blinker on to get into my lane. Well I had enough room but I slowed down a bit to let him over. We were approaching a light by the way, green. And at the last second he switches his blinker to right and turns right instead of getting in my lane like his blinker indicated. Made me get the red light :( I am by no means an aggressive driver, heck I was even gonna let the guy get over, but that day I was ticked!

Ahh the joys of living in Florida
