If you were around WDW in the 70's and early 80's you may remember this. It was moored for a while at the Polynesian. Which by the way, the room rates for the Polynesian in 1971 were $29, $36 and $44 a night. It sounds like they're just about done now (except for the DVC ones), but there could be changes coming to the Great Ceremonial House. I really hope that they keep the tropical plant centerpiece, since it really adds a lot to the lobby and makes it feel surprisingly authentic. I'm sure after 40+ years in use it has its issues, but it would be a shame to see it go I'm also not sure how I feel about the proposed DVC huts out over the water. On the one hand, I would love to stay in one, but on the other hand they kind of ruin the view for anybody else staying at the Poly and I'm sure they'll be a maintenance nightmare. Having a separate walkway to the shore for each one looks pretty silly, but I doubt the people who spend top dollars to stay there would want to share with their neighbors. This seems like one of those ideas that sounds great to an accountant, but terrible for everybody else
