Well, that's not really true when it comes to most computers, cameras, etc. Most devices sold today have universal power supplies, so it's just a matter of getting a plug adapter so you can physically plug it in. Check the label on each device, and if 220V/50Hz is within the input range, then you're golden and will not need a voltage transformer. Things that are unlikely to work are things like hair dryers.

The hotel should be able to loan you a plug adapter for US appliances, if there isn't already one in the room. Alternatively, here's the $6.99 Radio Shack part that you need if you want to get one before you go:

Although cameras and laptops are okay, you'll still need a transformer for your hair dryer and curling iron, TDLFAN.

(110-and don't ask why I wasn't using 220 after so many years here TDLFAN) I don't know if they had it on a transformer (I have one at home for some kitchen appliences), or if they have 110 power in the buildings. Here the converter plugs are pretty cheap too, around $10 us.

And where in my body may I add, will I use a hair dryer and curling iron? Oh well... hopefully your threadmill will also work in HK Superfry.
