And he's got a point. You probably shouldn't reach over and touch a presidential candidate...it could mean a lot of trouble.

I can't blast him for something that I might do...

Credible source? I don't think so.

There are lots of reasons not to support McCain. We don't need to reach like this.

At LEAST as important as past associations, don't you think?

McCain sure wants to focus on every person Obama came into contact with. Isn't it more than fair to take a look at how he acts?

Sorry, but I find these dismissals pretty disturbing. Especially when others will gladly jump on board when McCain attacks Obama because of people he knew (unfortunately for McCain, Obama has no past indiscretions personally...if he did they'd be all over it, but instead they attack his familiarity with associates...talk about a double standard!).

Maybe McCain is a die-hard gambler?

I don't know about "die-hard," but apparently he indulges quite a bit. I have no problem with this, as I enjoy it sometimes myself and in fact craps is my favorite game. A few evangelicals might have a problem if he was known as a habitual gambler, but I doubt most people would care.

I did read something (Time Mag?) comparing the two men's gambling styles. Supposedly Obama favors poker and is quite good at it. Basically a "tight" player, meaning conservative (small "c") who plays the odds, makes all the right moves, and only bluffs enough to keep others honest, taking very calculated risks only. McCain, on the other hand, was said in poker and craps, to favor high-risk/high payout (if they work) moves. Don't know if it's true, but if so I favor the former approach for a president.
