You sign in, they take a polaroid of you, you all sit down for a welcome speech then line up in groups of 50 or so. the judges walk up and down the rows and stare at you while you smile. at the end they call out the numbers of those they want to keep and all others are dismissed.

one thing I learned while I was there was be prepared by having a resume AND headshot with you. many of the girls that I saw got picked had both of those things with them and had given them to the judges. Keep your spirits up and best of luck! let us know how it goes!

They just want you to bring proof of employment to these open call auditions. Thanks for the advice though, Kira. I was planning on showing up around 7:20. Anything else you can tell me?

The only other tip I can give you is DO NOT dress up similar or trying to resemble the character you want to be. You'll be dismissed automatically lol. Girls were wearing red bows in their hair and they all got dismissed. I unfortunatly didn't make it past the first round so I can't help anymore then that =/ sorry.

So you won't be going Kira? It would be great to have someone else besides my sister to talk to. I'm not expecting much, so I won't be let down too much. Everyone at my work knows about this (plus other people from other forests!) and I've had to explain to everyone why most people don't make it. That's helped me put everything into persepctive. I'll just go, enjoy myself, get some experience, and try again another time!

Check out the Aladdin show next time you are at DCA, it is AMAZING!

My four year old looks and acts like Alice now. My husband and I have wondered if when she is older if she'll audition for Alice. Right now she has fun dressing like Alice and playing with her, too.

    Keep us posted!!!!

I'm guessing they were casting for a small group of characters because there were a lot of other girls that I was sure would get picked, but they weren't! I'm going back next time because it was fun and I met a lot of nice people, even though some girls seemed to have attitude ( "I can't believe I have to be here so early in the cold!") No one forced anyone to be there, so have fun!
Thanks for all of the help and information, it helped out a lot!

BTW, do you (or anyone else) know if the current characters have to reaudition, or if they get to keep their roles? I have noticed some people play different roles (most obvious is Wendy / Alice, but there are others). So I guess they would have to audition for both.

I also noticed that there seem to be a lot less characters now that the 50th is over.

Best of luck to you in th future!

I worked in entertainment, and I can tell you that you should re-audition again and again, even though that's frustrating.

If they get to know your face, and you even have a chance to chat a bit so they know you're friendly and enthusiastic, they'll often put a "note" in your file for next time.
