Quite often they will cross right in the middle of the block.

They do this with little kids and babies in strollers, sometimes walking right out between cars at stop lights.

The ones that do this at night are especially challenging. Some are wearing dark clothes when cross.

    Scarey.

It could easily be added to 192 to warn motorists.

    great photo.

These families can be staying at a Disney resort with the free transportation, plus the dining plan.

Unfortunately not all families have that kind of budget.

Yes, it has been successful but unfortunately the signs had to be changed to read "PROHIBIDO" (prohibited) instead of the english word "caution" because many families were crossing AT the signs on the 5 Freeway. Apparently the signs were taken as directional instead of cautionary. I wish I was making this up, but I'm not.

Although in some juristictions the pedestrian is in the right when crossing the road ((cough darn Peterson government)). Why can't people cross at the corner? When I go on my lunch break walk I always cross at the intersections, how hard is it?

Also why do you need to put signs up that are not in the official langauge? When you go abroad the signs are in international symbols and the native langauge...

Right or wrong, lives might be saved if the motorist knows to watch out for morons darting out in front of their cars. Even if these same idiots deserve to get hit a car, I really, really wouldn't want to be the person to mow down an entire family. That is NOT the sort of finale I want for my trip to WDW.

Just think, a lot of the time innocent children die because their stupid parents drag them out into the traffic.

    Help the children!!! ;-)

Haha Labuda and, ima, that is one of the saddest things I have ever heard.)

What ever happened to common sense? It's like people trying to get up on rides, it's not only dangerous but it's against common sense.

I do wish people would have more common sense to not ruin it for others. The signs may warn you, but only if you decipher what they mean, as well they're not aesthetically pleasing.

maybe common sense 101 should be a mandatory course for parents?

It's up to county officials in Florida to decide what to do, right? Either put in some pedestrian crossings with lights (which will slow down 192 even further), put in barriers that won't allow jaywalking or simply enforce the heck out of the area in terms of jaywalking.

Allowing the process to be solved by "natural selection" seems a poor choice in an area being frequented by out-of-state or even out-of-country visitors year-round.
