What are the chances if we ask for coupons (only 3 of us) at dinner that they might give them. Or would that be considered improper.

    I think the idea you have to eat before 4:00 or whatever the insane cutoff time is, is bad. You would think they'd want the Brown Derby for instance to be packed all day and all night as the profit margin has to be very good there..

They know that they can get people in there for dinner with no problems, so sell the dinner packages during the times that would be fairly light on crowds if there was no incentive to be there early. This way, it forces people into the restuarant during a time that it would be making little money (or even losing some), and still allowing other folks to eat there during the popular dinner hours.
