Which country do you think will win the World Cup?
I think it will either be Brazil, Spain or Germany. Until now no European team has won the World Cup in South America, maybe this will change this year.

Today's game is Brazil vs Croatia. My bet is on Brazil.

I think it has something to do with growing up listening to baseball on the radio all the time ( St.Louis Cardinals) before television capitalized/commercialized all sports.
I hope you keep us updated as it progresses over the next few weeks.

I'm thinking a final four of Germany, Brazil, Spain and Argentina with Argentina over Germany in the final.

And if things break as they're believed to Argentina could play Portugal in the quarterfinals. Ronaldo v Messi, with perhaps Messi pulling ahead in who's the best player in the world.

I try to watch as many games as possible too, but unfortunately many games are in the middle of the night over here.

Although Germany is also on my list for the best teams, I doubt that they will make it into the final.

As for the best player, I think Ronaldo deserves to be the best player this year, at least when it comes to the Champions League and the Spanish Championship.

By the way it's still strange that the UK has the chance to send four different teams to the World Cup or to the European Championship.

Technically, the UK is made up of 4 small countries so it depends on the set up for each sport. For football, each country has their own leagues (though you do find Welsh teams in the English leagues) and this carries through to the national teams as well. We did have a Great British team for the olympics!!!

The lack of coverage in the USA is disheartening. Most people are unaware that there is a World Cup being played. Even worse, many regard the sport as "effeminate" and not a "manly" sport (like concussion ball). The coverage is better than before, but the sport remains invisible to most Americans.
