We have biometric scanners at work and I wash my hands after using one every time just as I do at WDW or anywhere I might be subject to using one. A product like Purell (like SuperDry mentioned) is a good thing to have handy now that these are a reality. It also doesnt help that people become "zombified" in these kinds of situations even though there might be clearly marked and ordered instructions right in front of them as well as a cm to offer (needed in many cases) assistance. Really....airports & theme parks....peoples brains go numb.

I would imagine that a large percentage of visitors are repeat visitors, and hopefully they will be more adept at the "finger thingie" the next time they come. We've used the system for several years now since we've had annual passes. Once we had tried it a few times it never gave us a problem. As for the cleanliness issue... as far as I'm concerned it is a non-issue. Do you ever touch a railing in a queue line? That has just as many people touching it as an entrance scanner. Plus in queue lines you get young children hanging on to the railings and who knows where THEIR fingers might have been. There are 10 million places to pick up other people's germs at WDW. I don't think the scanners are worse than any of the others.
