One of them would be the first dance I had with my husband at our wedding. So I started wondering what other people had chosen for their first dance.

What was the song? What year were you married? Does the song have special meaning to you beyond the wedding?

If you aren't married, is there a particular song you think you might want if/when you do get married?

I would have to say whatever my future mrs avromark liked, provided it isn't ganster rap or something like that. I really don't know names of songs or lyrics, all I know is if I like how a song sounds :) Heck I wouldn't mind an oldies song, or something mellow, any suggestions?

future mrs, please find me so my marriage will be a year away (church wedding)

Okay. In the interest of sharing and community, I'll tell it again. Mr. Glitter and I were married in 1988. We (okay, I) chose two "first dance" songs. . . one for the first dance just the two of us, and one for the dance that our wedding party joined us in. One of the songs we chose isn't all that bad--"We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters.

The other was. . .um. . .pretty bad. In fact, I may have actually repressed the title, but I think it's "Always." It is a duet, and the lyrics are sweet and romantic and really, really schlocky and bad--lol. But on the rare occasions when I hear it on the radio now, it still gives me a happy little glow and makes me smile.

And cringe. But only a little bit.

Second song for the wedding part? Fooled Around and Fell in Love!

Phil Collin's huh. Why are all "our songs" sappy? :p

I'm not gonna buck the trend I want "our song to be" sappy and romantic. Something that will embaress my kids.

But being a bachelor so long chances are i'm set in my ways an unmarriable. What wife would want a husband that prefers to cook?

I still love both of those songs...especially when they come on the radio when we are driving together.
