Can anyone tell me what the crowds are like that time of year and what to expect weather wise? We usually go around Spring Break in March.

One of my all time favorite event at DL happens the first week in December, Candlelight. Candlelight is an elaborate Christmas concert of mostly religious carols and readings, the Christmas story from the King James Bible, as well as a few other, all short. In the evening Candlelight makes main street really crowded, but you won't really notice it in the rest of the park. Reserved seats for Candelight are expensive and hard to get, but to walk up, stand and listen is no additional cost. Also, especially for the later show, good views are easy to get shortly before the show.

I've heard about cast member parties which shut down one of the parks fairly early, like 6pm, but I don't have much information on when they may be.

As for weather, it will be a chilly evening, and a brisk day. Average High of 66 and an average low of 49. There is also a small chance of rain. So Cal rain is nothing to be scared of. Our storms are rarely very long, very hard or very cold. And, if it does rain it will just clear the park out for you even more.

Have fun, and hopefully I'll be there too!

I used to live in Portland and when I went to Disneyland in December, I usually wore shorts and a t-shirt in the day and just added a sweatshirt for the nights.

The crowds were decent. We've been mostly in the summer and it was nowhere near those crowds. However, it was more crowded on the weekends, of course.

The decorations were spectacular. The castle was amazing, main street and new orleans square was our favorite. The trees were so pretty and when the evenings came and the lights came on - wow. It was so neat watching it snow on main street!

Try to do the Holiday Tour, it was so great. We loved the Haunted Mansion Holiday and probably rode it twice a day while we were there.

You'll love the parks for the holidays, we did. It was well worth the hassle to get there in the winter.

Does the Electric Light Parade run at this time of year? We will be taking my mother-in-law who hasn't been to DL for 25+ years and I know that she would love to see it.

    Thanks again.

This was last year's Dec. schedule and the EP doesn't show up until 12/21. Villains, maybe you saw it on your LATE Dec. trip, not your EARLY one. ;)
