I don't like the idea of putting another vaccine into my body, just to prevent the chance that I might be sick for a day or two. When I get the flu, which is very rarely anyway, I usually don't get it very badly. So for me the risks, however small, outweigh the benefits.

I wouldn't say that I am a germaphobe, but, I do make my kids carry the hand sanitizer gel with them in their backpacks ! LOL You can never be too careful ! I myself do not get the shot usually, only because as Mom, I am last on the list of people to take care of, and I miss out because I never think of getting it myself ! And every year I promise myself I will get it ! Being Mom of 5 boys, I am always running somewhere for someone (although, I no longer run around for the 20 yr old, as he is on his own now *sniff, sniff * hard to let go)..... don't get me wrong, as I love it ! (although, there are days I wonder what a day to myself would be like.... HAHAHAHHAAAAA)

What about you, DVC dad ??? Do you get the shot? What about your kiddos ??

Well I went today, got mine at the pediatrician. I went first while the kids all lined up and watched. Then we continued oldest to youngest. Only the 3 year old, and the baby cried, and only for a moment.

DD is offered a flu shot every year, but she says she doesn't want one. She doesn't mind getting the flu because, as she says, "I can stay home with you, momma, and you make me chicken soup and we color together, and we have a movie marathon, and Georgie brings me home a teddy bear." She's 13, you'd think that rushing to the bathroom 100 times a day would kinda diminish the fun of coloring...........:)

There is that and people actually still die from the flu every year in the USA.

I am on the "Better get the shot list" so I always get mine at the 1st place I can. DD just cannot afford to miss that much school. She would never be able to catch up.

I can't afford for us to get sick, because if they are sick, I have to take time off, too, since I have no backup care for either of them.
