However, I prefer John Wayne and would fly in there if I found a good deal and/or a direct flight.

The smaller airports like John Wayne and Long Beach are so easy to get in and out of--much better than LAX. I always watch the fares early and usually get pretty good prices. If you can get around $250-$275 round trip into Orange County or Long Beach that is probably about as low as it will go. We have always taken a cab from Orange County airport and it is around $35 each way.

As far as renting a car-don't forget to add in daily parking fees if your hotel charges them.

Long Beach was very close but we had a very bad experience with the disneyland Express bus....I would Never use this service again.... this is the one that dineytravel service reccomended for us because we have a fam if 5. they drive in circles and we were the last to be dropped off, when we were told that disneyland properties would be dropped off first....but that wasnt really a big deal but for our departure the bus was late and we ended up taking a cab so we wouldnt miss our flight, the cab/shuttle(was a mini van) was very nice and accomodating and the cost was only $40, I believe the Express bus was $50. They charge by the person.

Next time we will definately take a Cab/shuttle.

It was certainly stressful, and Greyline and Disney travel were not very helpful and neither one would give us a refund for the unused vouchers... I tried.

Maybe just dumb luck for me but it put a sour end on an otherwise fabulous trip so I wont reccomed or use them again.

on the other hand the bell desk for the grand went above and beyond to get us a shuttle/taxi so we wouldnt miss our flight.

On our pick-up from the PPH Hotel to LAX, we had to wait for the bus out in front of the hotel with our luggage - and were told by the Bell staff that if we were not out close to the curb the bus would not stop to pick us up. So, the bus did come, but then took us to the Disneyland Hotel where we all had to get off, unload and schlep our own luggage to yet another bus that then took us to LAX. I would only use a cab to Orange County or Long Beach. SO much more convenient and realiable and less stress - all for making a vacation was it is supposed to be - unstressful.
