I couldn't care less if we NEVER heard from Disney executives, so long as they deliver like they did on this one.

Besides, it's not as though any of them could ever replace THE Disney spokesperson of note, Walt Disney himself.

Michael had a great personality at these type of events. He was always a pleasure to talk to and it was obvious he genuinely cared about being there (and I was at many an event where I got to speak with him, so I am not going off Internet talk).

You would think for someone who got his start as a TV weatherman that Bob would show more personality, although I'm starting to believe he simply doesn't have any.

And while Tom certainly has the looks of a hip, young exec in 'the business' as opposed to Jay 'I could sell Buicks in Tulsa' Rasulo, he clearly seemed uncomfortable in front of such a large crowd.

It was pretty obvious that Iger wants any credit for turning DCA around that this show brings, which is why George K was basically a lapdog despite being resort Prez.

Of course, this is probably one of the only times Bob and Willow will let him and Andy sit at a table with them, so you must count your blessings ;-)

Maybe one of you guys could start a NEW topic in order to discuss the personalities of Disney suits. ;)

In the meantime, perhaps you could comment on the show itself OR suggest some ways for me to get to Anaheim post haste. (any offers of free transportation and/or accommodations will be kindly considered) :D

Can you get here by Friday night? If so, WorldDisney and I will get an extra box lunch and save you a viewing spot.

Nah. I'd rather discuss it where it flows (like water ... like WoC).

I've just commented on the show in other threads, but I don't believe you can get the real vibe of a visceral show by watching it on a computer. You need to experience it.

It does seem to have spectacular effects ... it does seem weak on story ... you can tell where they chopped the 5-7 minutes out of the show (not sure whether this was for the best) ... the only thing that truly bugged me was the reliance on so many of the same songs and animation that you see in other Disney shows (Night on Bald Mountain is right across the way in Fantasmic for instance ... and how much Aladdin and Little Mermaid and Toy Story can one have?)

Overall, it did look very nice. But I reserve judgment until I see it (hopefully later this month or early next!)

Yeah, I know how that goes (and if I'd started this topic to say I think it sucks, I highly doubt it would be well received although plenty of people will be very happy that I *liked* the video).

Effects trump story, particularly Disney stories which are weak and cheesy to begin with. ;)

Yes, people make judgments like that.

    Cheesy, yes. Weak, no.

I want to see the real show. Feel the music. See the color. Even get wet.

It's like watching a music video on YouTube vs. being at a live concert.

Sure, you get an idea of the thing ... but so much is left out.

I never watch anything I am going to see, but I had planned to be out there tonight and had a week from hell (two words: bank fraud) so I am here and I just said 'screw it' and watched it.

I'm not really sorry because I knew probably 80% of what I was going to see anyway ... and it won't 'ruin' seeing it live for me anyway.
