Shouldn't one expect to get on a ride using FP in 10 minutes or less? I'm not really complaining but is there not some kind of implied notion that a FP will get you on the ride "with no waiting" as opposed to "much faster than standbys"?

Originally Posted By danyoung The extra wait in the FP lines is caused by two things. First, when an attraction is down (as Splash is prone to do), all of the returning FP'ers just come back later. The other factor is that Disney doesn't enforce the return time on the tickets, and I think it's becoming general knowledge. The system is set up to handle x number of returnees per hour. If half of them dink around and come back an hour late, you now have a FP line that's jammed up. I really do wish Disney would enforce the end time on the tickets. Or as a friend suggested, put in a validation system in the restaurants, so if your meal runs long you can still use your ticket. Any other reason for being late is just an excuse.

If CM's letting in FP riders use the same "formula" (75% from FP versus 25% from standby at any one time), then it would stand to reason that FP returnees might "wait" longer later in the day. I guess if I had to make a choice, it would be to put up with a little bit of a wait in an FP line in order to come back whenever I wanted to instead of having to cleave exactly to the printed FP wait time.

Part of the reason why longer lines "work best" is if they move continuously. The stop/start/stop thing on top of people passing by is what adds to the rub.

You miss that added show element and your experience is short-changed IMHO.

I was just there a couple of weeks ago and waited much longer than usual in the fast pass lines. I understand attractions break down and people don't return when they are supposed to but that's always been an issue. It seems that something else might be causing this problem.

I can't believe how raging mad she was over no fastpass.
