So let me get this straigth...

A teen tweets that the Gov sucks.

The Gov has someone that monitors social media.

The Gov's office complains about it.

The kid gets in trouble and is ordered to write a letter of apology.

I haven't decided which part of the above is the most frightning.

That said...the Governor's staff has WAY too much time on their hands and apparently so, too, does the School Board.

That's pretty much what's happened. And the governor now apologized to her.

Give me a break. I'm glad she didn't apologize and even happier that she didn't REALLY insult the governor. I don't think what she did was wrong but I don't think she should be celebrated either. There's just a lot of stupid involved in this.

As long as it's made public.

How dumb was the governor/governor's office to even respond to a random tweet.

But more concerning to me was the principal that thought he had the right to discipline a student over an opinion she had of a public figure.

I wouldn't think so. It wasn't like she was making threats against the governor. The school should only be involved if she was in class tweeting instead of doing her schoolwork.

    Very mature. Very classy.

I've noticed she hasn't apologized. And the governor has.

    Notice the difference.

And if I can get a little WE snarky here, I hope she realizes that the next time she meets someone who actually matters, she can pretend she told him he sucks but most likely what she'll actually tell him is "Here's your change, sir."
