    I already donated on Jan. 13th, but was compelled to donate again on Friday night...I got thru on the phone around 11 P.M. and was put on hold for a few minutes.....I was very surprised to hear Disney music....I kept thinking....what does Disney have to do with this??...hadn't heard or read about Disney being involved....a woman came on whom I could barely understand....when she was done she told me "Have a magical night"....Did anyone else experience this??

I would guess that this one was the same way. When you dial the toll free number, your call gets randomly assigned to one of the companies that is donating call center capacity, and then that company handles the call through their normal facilities. It sounds like your call randomly (magically? :)) got routed to Disney and you almost certainly spoke with a Disney call center CM who took your donation. I don't know if the CM was donating their time or Disney was paying them in a form of corporate donation to the cause - it could happen either way - but I'm almost certain that Disney donated the cost for use of facilities, equipment, and toll charges.

    SuperDry - this was a non-paid, non-compensated evening, and CMs had to pay for all their expenses involved in the evening.

    The call volume at one point was so great that the Orlando call center went down for a bit.
