I'm not all that surprised this didn't work out. I don't even really harbor any hard feelings towards Senator Gregg (it's fair, in life, to have a genuine change of heart I think).

But what did the Republican leadership have to say about this (like a couple of schoolyard punks!)??

"Asked for his reaction to Gregg's withdrawal as a candidate, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) responded simply: "Wonderful.""

"Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was equally gleeful, telling Politico: "It's great to have him back.""

What a load of garbage. No comment about the fact that the President is trying to INCLUDE their party in his efforts? No comment about any sort of "disappointment"?

Just "glad he's back from the darkside"?

Scumbags. That's my opinion of those two (Boehner, in particular, seems more of an obstructionist jerk than anything else. What the heck kind of statement is THAT?

(for the record, I appreciated and respected the comments by Gregg himself, and I do think some of the White House rhetoric was overly harsh)

Would it surprise you to know the leaders of the Democratic party are...wait for it...partisan as well?

    Shocking.

But I think Obama is show extraordinary bi-partisanship. And is not very happy with some in his party.

Enough about Pelosi/Ried, we are supposed to be talking about the GOP.
