Is it possible to walk to Downtown Disney from the park? Can we leave our car in the Disneyland parking garage after the park closes or should we move it to the Downtown Disney parking lot? Thanks so much!! :)

If you go to the Disneyland.com website you can pull up the map and it shows how DTD is attached to the property.

You should be aware that, depending on the dates you're there, you might not find much open in DTD after DL closes.

I always find that disappointing. Even when the economy was doing well, I would have thought that was a good time to snag a some hotel guests with that "gotta have it" item.

The green roofs near the bottom center of the picture is the Grand Californian Hotel; DtD is just above it, and the park entrance is just to the right.

It can take a full 60 seconds to walk from the gate of one park to the gate of the other, and it may take 2 minutes to walk from either park to DTD.

You are truly "surrounded by Disney" when you can spend 4-5 days at Disneyland without ever having to get on a Bus or some other form of transit to get where you want. The longest walk is perhaps about 10 minutes from the DL Hotel through Downtown Disney to the parks. That to me is WONDERFUL!

If you're there during the week and it's NOT the holiday period, the park closes earlier (and CA Adventure generally closes 2 to 3 hours earlier than DL) and there will still be eateries and shops open in DTD, and the AMC theater will be open too.

Or, take a shuttle from your hotel (assuming you are not at a Disney hotel) and then take a cab back.
