The most commonly accepted seems to be the one that says, while it was a horrible thing that happened to Jesus, the resulting opportunity for people to have sins forgiven by God because of His willingness to die on our behalf was very good indeed.

For me personally (and forgive me for chiming in since I'm an "ex" Christian, but I used to be anyway and I still have enormous respect and admiration for Jesus), I always thought the "good" was simply because what Jesus chose to do, bravely and selflessly, was sort of the definition of what "good" means. Just my 2 cents.
