Anyway, my aunt has been in the hospital since before Thanksgiving. Over two months! She was initially admitted to have what was supposed to be a simple surgery. She had a hernia repaired and I believe the other issue then was her gall bladder. Usualy the surgery doesn't require more than one night in the hospital. Well, she just wasn't healing and recovering after her first surgery. They soon discovered that she had a perforated bowel. Of course no one will say that it happened in the first surgery but that's what we're guessing happened. So she had surgery to get that fixed. After that, infection set in. A few weeks ago she had more surgery to clean out the infection. This week they discovered that there was still pockets of infection so she'll be having more surgery on Friday. Needless to say, she's incredibly depressed. It's taking a big toll on our whole family. My mom and grandparents are down at the hospital every single day which is becoming increasingly difficult for my grandparents. And even when she gets released from the hospital, there's no way she'll be able to go home, she lives in a second story apartment. So she'll be going to my parents' house to recover. Meanwhile, the rest of the family is going to have to move her to a downstairs apartment so that she can eventually go back to living on her own. So any happy thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated!

So she's going to have four more surgeries in the next two weeks to try and clear it all out. She'll be in the hospital at least another month.
