The CM who took my order said she could call in the am and find out what room we will have and still deliver the goodies at 7:30pm. She said they would "note" our requests for DTD View in the Sierra Tower but if we didn't like the room we were assigned, we would lose our treats since they would be already in the "other" room. What do you think the odds are of getting our request at AP rates? We arrive 1/12 right before the holiday weekend "rush". Do you think having something delivered like this increases our chances of getting our "requested" room? Or should I just cancel the first nights goodies? Any other "tricks" to get the room we requested? Should we also call the day before or that am? (By the way, the treats sound sooo cute-Thursday night=chocolate ears with the kids names on them, Friday night=milk and Mickey cookies, Sat. night=Tuxedo chocolate dipped strawberries, Sun night=Mickey rice crispy treats with ears dipped in chocolate. I hope they don't have nightmares eating all that junk at bedtime-lol) Any tips, etc.? Maybe I should switch around the specific treats because the first night treats are the most expensive ($11/each+tip+delivery charge!) and I don't want to "lose" those. Anyone ever been in the same position? How did it work out for you? The 12th is also my birthday so I don't want any big problems checking in so late!

We were told over and over again, NO AP RATES during the "summer 50th" celebration-but we got great AP rates of $149.00 a night, good for summer, with Ca. Adventure view. Just keep trying and be really, really, nice always. You know what they say," bees come to honey..." Have a great trip!
Originally Posted By fidoprincess Thanks I just read what I wrote and it is confusing. We DO already have AP rates for the trip. It just that at AP rates, you get a "standard" room and can only request a specific type or tower. I think I will just cancel the first night treats and see where they put us. We can't check in earlier because we will be "in transit" and won't arrive until around 8pm but at least we get to go-lol!

They would assign my room then and take all my cc info and then all we need to do when we get there is pick up the keys. No one had ever said that before! It is my birthday (not so special now that I'm over 21-lol!) and the CM said that it was noted on the reservation so hopefully we will get a nice room. I guess at these AP rates, "you get what you get" because when I asked about paying the difference to get a certain view, it would be close to an additional $200 night-lol. I think we will just live with whatever we get at that price. Lately, I've heard a lot of people complaining about the DTD view for being too noisy unless you are up high. Some have said the music was so loud and kept them awake. Last time, we were really high up so didn't hear anything until around 2 am when all the drinkers poured out from ESPN-lol. I guess it would be noisy if you are low like the 4th or 5th floor and that's about as high up as you get in a "standard" room. Who knows what will happen but I'm sure the kids will love it. They don't really remember the last time we stayed there other than the pool was sooo cold and we probably won't be swimming this time either-lol. The only thing I remember from last time is the toilet had #2 in it when we first went to our room-yuk! The maid came and cleaned it right away but still...DH is not thrilled to be going back again and DLH never sent apologies or anything so he was less than impressed. I just love the tinkerbell border, I guess I am easy to please-lol.

Truely, we have always stayed at the Paradise Pier, and are treated GREAT! My children love the pool and the staff is amazeing! We are going to at some point stay at the DH. but for now, PPH is just grand! You are going to have a blast! Eat at the SteakHouse in your hotel, its really good.
