Why one earth does anyone think people are going to vote based upon reasonable thinking? There is a good chunk of America right now that only cares about "throwing the bums out." They don't give two cents about which bums they replace them with. Of course, President Obama, has been very pragmatic and rational throughout all this -- which is exactly his problem. He is completely out of touch with the feeling of the electorate. He thinks Americans are "hurting," but he couldn't be more wrong. Many Americans are traumatized by their economic plight and they are going to make decisions that are not reasonable. The President and Democratic Congress would do well by throwing a little reason out the window and aggressively push through a progressive agenda while they still have a chance.

The GOP is sure to pick a wacko as their nominee. It might not be Palin, but probably someone who is even more of an idiot. I predict that neither the GOP or Democrats stand a chance for the Presidential race in 2012. Michael Bloomberg stands the best shot running as an independent -- if he's willing to spend the dough out of his own pocket to finance the race.

It would be interesting if Beck had to choose between supporting Romney or Palin.

He uses a lot Christian language on his TV show and public speaking, but rarely self-identifies with the Mormon church. In fact, when I brought up the fact that Glenn Beck was a Mormon in my office several months ago (an office full of Fox News faithful, btw), not a single one of these people who were regular viewers had any idea.

Mormons have this weird notion that they will be the saviors of the constitution. Mormons also view the founding fathers as divinely inspired. Mormons also believe in a mandatory 10% tithe and currently Beck is trying to convince his followers to give 10% of their income to charity to make up for reduced social programs in his ideal smaller federal government. And, very typical of Mormons, he claims to be the victim when people get upset with some of his hateful actions. I know not all of this is exclusive to Mormonism but it's pretty clear to this former Mormon where a lot of his ideas are stemming from.

In addition, she was terminated from her last "real" job in 2004, and turned around and sued them for "gender discrimination". Presumeably it was groundless in the first place and motivated out of petty vindictiveness, and she eventually dropped it. Yet, not surprisingly, her supporters don't care one bit. And it's THEM she's ripping off! In a normal world, these kinds of antics would disqualify her from any public office, let alone the US senate. But this is not a normal world, and these people who vote for these loons have no expectation of accountability or even basic honesty in their candidates. What's important is that they whistle the right tune when it comes to tea party platitudes - take our country back, tax cuts, dismantle health care, reduce government yada yada. These candidates don't know an appropriation bill from a duck bill and have zero qualifications for the job. But they blow sweet nothings about evangelism, god, guns and gays and that's all it takes. On GOP 2012 candidates, I agree that Romney's toast. He wants to be the nominee, but the GOP of today will never give it to him - he's not crazy enough for them. I predict it'll be someone on the fox payroll - Palin, Huckabee, Gingrich or possibly even Beck.
