If we were to book the room with one Queen and a set of bunk beds, would the bunk beds be big enough for an adult who's 5'4"?

I can't afford two rooms at the Grand, so it's either this or booking two separate rooms at a good neighbor hotel. Thanks for any recommendations!

ALso each room comes with a PaknPlay in the closet but they are very small and the "mattress" for the baby is like a piece of cardboard. Somebody mentioned sleeping bags available at the Grand. I wonder if anybody has advice using those. ? ...

I'd also try for the 2 queens and daybed or even a king with a pull out sofa bed and check if the 2 year old will be willing to sleep in the paknplay. Or maybe even the queen queen and make up a little "nest" for the 3 year old :)

As long as you are on the top and the little ones are on the bottom, you should be fine.

Keep in mind that they can guarantee the type of room you can get but you should request what you want and then remind them at check in that that is what you need. You may have to wait a little longer if they do not have the room you need ready at check in but they are pretty good about getting you what you need.

I love the GCH (it is the only place we stay now) and I am sure you will too...Have fun!

I have stayed there 3 times; once in the two queen room, once in the queen/bunkbed room, and once in the two queen/day bed, and that was the least expensive AND the biggest room since it is a standard view price.

When I went to the front desk to "mention" this the Disney rep argued with me and said all the rooms were queen. I insisted she was wrong that this room was a double. Finally she said Well another guest recently complained about this also and promised management would contact me in the morn. I have had many minor disappointments with the Grand I refuse to stay there anymore. My daughter always thought I was being the "problem" at check-in because it always took forever and for some reason they would have to go to a back room and leave me standing waiting...then she had to check in once(earlier arrival) and admitted it was just as painfully long and stressful as I had always endured. And the rooms are never ready anymore. I decided not to stay there anymore when I would start getting upset about the check-in routine a few days before my plane trip. I will stay at the Paradise Pier. The front desk castpeople are excellent! The rooms are cheerful. Another observation about Disney versus the hotels on Harbor. Disney people do not want to make eye contact with their guests but I have noticed excellent greetings from Harbor staffpeople always. I am from the Midwest and have almost always maintained eye contact with a smile/greeting...it may be corny but it really is not that much extra work in life.
Anyway I hope you report back with your successful fun trip report story and how much fun you had.

We actually had a worse time at Paradise Pier the one time we stayed there...we only stay at the Grand now but if I had been treated like you were MMC I wouldn;t stay there either.

Audry,I hope your experiences with the Grand are more like mine and that you have a great time.

Is it as boring as it looks? And what is considered resort view now?

They have two view options: theme park view which looks over DCA and DTD view

I would ask for a room near the elevator as it can be quite a hike through a maze of long dark hallways.

have fun wish I was staying at the grand : )

Better idea would be to stay at the Disneyland hotel and get a room in the newly remodeled Dreams Tower. You can get a room with 2 queens and a rollaway. No rollaways allowed in the Grand. The rooms in the Dream Tower are much larger than the rooms at the Grand and they allow rollaways. I've used one there before and it was fine. You need to insist on the Dreams Tower though. They tried putting us in the main tower before and it was awful and I called downstairs to the desk and insisted they move us to the Dreams Tower. If it were me going with 5 people, I would go with the Dreams Tower at the DL hotel with 2 queens and a rollaway. The larger room is really nice for that many people.
