Grizzly River Run Refurb in January

They only have the schedule up until the 8th right now, and GRR is closed up till then. Does anybody know how long it will be closed down for? And if they are doing anything special?

    Or is this just a normal refurb since it's "off" season?

    no, it could be longer than that...it now says that on the 9th it will be closed...they just havent released any more info on the days after that so it could be closed down for another week.

    Last year we were there at that time and it was also closed for refurb. It closed on the 2nd day of our trip (which I think was in fact the 3rd of January) and I think it might have even reopened while we were there, so it wasn't down for long.

    I thought the parks were unbearably crowded all the time?

    Of they aren't, but how many people want to plan a visit to DLR in January? It's certainly not an ideal time to visit weather-wise.

    You didn't hear that from me. I'm the one who was saying what a delightful time I had back at the end of september. Of course it WAS the hottest day in the entire history of LA that weekend, but the guest counts in the park were low. And we were back on the road heading home in an air conditioned car during the worst of it.

    We never went on GRR during our two day visit. For one thing, I really don't like getting drenched, even in hot weather. For another, we stood in line to obtain FPs for WOC at DCA opening, so in a way we felt like we already waited in "that" line once - even though it was for something else.
