I was hooked for life..Many years and many, many trips later I am still hooked

That was the one I always went to as a kid. The Alderwood one is pretty good though.

There were just so few produced that it seemed to be forever before another one would come on. Oh, the ensuing anticipation for the following Sunday...

I am glad it is coming back, hopefully by the next time I find myself in Vancouver.

I vividly remember the episode called Gala Day At Disneyland, showing the opening of the Subs, Monorail and Matterhorn. It had to be a rerun because the show originally aired in 1959 and I saw it in about 64 or 65, but holy cow, you talk about amazing stuff for a six year old! That was the episode that showed the sub ride on opening day where they did indeed have live mermaids in the lagoon, and dont even get me started on Matterhorn and Monorail, it was almost too much for my six year old brain to handle.

But when a Disney school bus lunchbox turned up at lost and found after it was there the requisite 30 days it was given to me. It was a given that it would go to me (it wasn't mine initially). I still have that lunchbox over 20 years later. It holds my collection of Disney viewmaster reels. On the flip side we were among the first people to get Disney Channel and people teased me a bit for that. When I had slumber parties I would show Disney films over objections but the films were well accepted. They were not animated features or Ron Miller live action but some of the smaller films that Disney created for the Disney Channel or family films presented on the Disney Channel.
Originally Posted By tashajilek Thats cool that you still have that lunch box. Something really cool that used to happen in our mall was Disney characters would come to out mall. It was once a year and they said the characters were all driving down from disneyland. I would wait in line to see Mickey, Minnie and everyone else. They would also bring props and giants story books and read all the kids Disney stories and give out prizes. I really missed when they stopped doing that but it was a great memory. Out of my family i guess i am the one who cares the most about Disney. My brother bugs me all the time yet he seems to always know all the newest information on DL too hahah. Tm, i shopped at the Burlington DS so much that they gave me a 15% off preferred customer card lol.

For the longest time when I was younger, I was obsessed with The Aristocats, I would watch it 4 times in a row on days. I grew up on all the movies! My earliest time in theaters, thay I can remember, being when I was 3 (1999) watching Tarzan in a small theater in Bangor, Maine. Parks were weird for me, since I didn't go to one till I came to Florida in 2000. I went to the Magic Kingdom, but then had a phase where I would rather go visit the fair a city away instead of Disney. As you all know now, I am a hard-core Disney fan, loving all aspects of the company! (BTW, just read the new Disney Junior shows coming, and I might actually watch them!)
