My family made a plan to go to disney world in 1996 way back in 1988ish, yeah that was torture until the day finally arrived. Then when I hit high school we all got passes and now i work there. so there as always been a closeness with disney for me.

Growing up in Pittsburgh, we never heard about Disneyland as it was so far away in Calif. I didn't get to go there until I was 20, and then only because my Grandma had retired to L.A. for a sunnier climate! I never saw the Disney movies at the theatre, but made sure my kids had every Disney video that came out. We grew up thinking that "Uncle Walt" was this dear old man who made great cartoons and movies about animals. We'd listen to his introduction before each show..and I remember thinking what a nice old man he must be.
