Disney will not even allow guest relations cast members the ability to offer access to the attraction to appease any disgruntled guests during this period.

On a similar note, I've been reading some online rumors that suggest that the empty soundstage building next to TSMM is going to have another TSMM built inside it. Once complete, one version (presumably the existing one) will be FP only, and the other will be standby only. From the way the rumors have been stated, it sounds like construction is expected to begin any day, with it being done on an accelerated schedule (possible openings before this time next year). It seems wildly implausible to me, but several different usually-reliable sources are claiming it's happening

In the many ways this is ridiculous, my biggest one is that my family uses the "wrong" type of ticket which means we CAN'T get FP+ until the day of, at a kiosk. Which essentially means that under this new system, we can't ride at all. There were reports that some additional FP+ times were available, but if your party is large enough, can't get times together. And all FP+ times were still gone by 10AM.

    What a bizarre story.

But at the Studios and Epcot it ended up being more trouble than it was worth. The Studios only has three attractions that need FP (ToT, Mania and Rock & Roller) and you could only get one FP for attractions in that tier, so you ended up with two Fastpasses for attractions that really didn't need them. At Epcot there are only two (Soarin' and Test Track) and again you could only schedule one of them. The other attractions we scheduled didn't really need them, but the reservation times kept us criss-crossing the park in a way and at a time when we normally never would, eating up valuable time and resulting in extra walking. Because of that we ended up NOT seeing a couple of attractions that we normally would.

If I had it to do over I would not even bother with FP+ at those two parks except for the one top tier attraction we were allowed.
