Us Cauldron girls were standing in line--waiting for our orders at the counter--when this irate woman walks up next to us and wants to know if she's REALLY going to have to stand in 3 seperate lines in order to get food for her 3 different children--who all want 3 different things. ORDDU: You have to understand that Cosmis Ray's Cafe is set up with 3 different counters: 1 for the Burger and fry crowd; 2 for the salad lovers and 3 for the chicken and rib types. ORWEN: When the meek and mild cast member told the woman she really would have to wait in 3 different lines if that's what it took to satisfy all 3 of her children, the woman complained, "Oh, that's just not at all fair!! Would YOU want to have to stand in 3 different lines for YOUR 3 different kids? I don't THINK so!! I wanna' talk to your MANAGER!!" ORDDU: So, the bewildered cast member went off to get her Lead. A few minutes later, the Manager returned--only to repeat the same thing that the other cast member had just said. She did apologize for the inconvenience and even offered to supply the upset woman with a complimentary item of some sort. ORWEN: But this was not at all to the guest's liking. So, she gave the Manager a tongue lashing of sorts--saying she couldn't BELIEVE the lack of good service she receiving--and then stormed off. Everybody just looked after her as though they thought she was acting spoiled. ORDDU: Not a very good example to set for her 3 young children, who were standing nearby.

ORDDU: While waiting patiently to be served, there was this kind gentleman who was explaining to the cast member behind the counter about how he was going to be bringing some friends to the Magic Kingdom--for the sole purpose of seeing this year's Christmas Parade. But he wasn't sure what dates the Christmas parade would be performing for regular day guests. ORWEN: When he asked the cast member if she could supply the correct dates, she merely looked at him and said, "I don't know." ORDDU: Whereupon the man responded with, "Is there someone whom I could talk to who might know?" ORWEN: The cast member shrugged her shoulders and took on a bluffing expression, now, as she replied, "No." ORDDU: The man appeared to be suspicious at her response, saying, "Are you sure? I mean, there has to be SOMEBODY around here who knows the correct schedule for your entertainment." ORWEN: It was then that the Cast member appeared to be bristling inside--but she managed to keep her cool just enough as she suggested, "Why don't you just look it up on the internet yourself?" ORDDU: To which the stunned guest declared, "Madame, a moment ago you said there was no way to even find out the correct information I'm asking about. But if it's really something that can be found on the internet, why don't YOU be the one to do it? After all, I wouldn't even know where to begin." ORWEN: It was at this point the cast member took on a sour expression as she said, "Just a moment." Then she turned away and disappeared through a closed door. ORDDU: Several minutes later, she retured and said, "The Christmas parade will begin performing for regular day guests on December 21st." ORWEN: "Thank you, Madame," the gentleman said evenly, "That's all I wanted to know." ORDDU: But--as he turned to walk away--you could see the expression BOTH their faces and it was telling. ORWEN: His expression seemed to be saying, "I can't believe Cast members find it so difficult to go that extra step in finding out something as simple as an entertainment schedule! What has Disney Guest Relations coming to?!" ORDDU: Whereas, the expression the Cast Member's face seemed to be saying, "What a JERK!! Making me go to all the trouble of leaving my post just to answer some stupid question like that!! The nerve!!" ORWEN: This time around, we side with the Guest. I mean, it's a Cast Member's JOB to answer the sort of question that poor man asked! How dare her act as though she couldn't be bothered by what he wanted to know! ORDDU: Can't everybody just learn to get along? ORWEN: (And, by the way, they DID move the spot where a witch has to park her broom stick, now--just in case you're interested to know...)

That is the same petpeeve I have about TDS' Zambini Bros. Restaurant (mind you the food at Zambini's is much much better than the garbage they sell at Tomorrowland Terrace now a days... But still... I am glad the woman gave them hell and ticked them off for a change. A few more of those and hopefully a caring and intelligent manager will effect change for the better.

After using Food Courts at the All Stars and Dixie Landings, I was surprised when I stayed at the Caribbean Beach and found they had a separate checkout for each station. It was certainly less convenient than what I had become accustomed to. But to take out your disappointment on a low-level CM shows no class whatsoever. They did not make the policy, and are not in a position to effect change. If she had a complaint it should have been registered at Guest Relations in City Hall. There it at least could have been ignored by the appropriate personnel. ;-)

In my experience terrorizing CMs at WDW, most entry level kids have shown me more compassion and genuine interest in helping out than their managers ever do. But for the record... I don't think it is OK for anyone to be nasty about bring up complaints and such to CMs who are not able to resolve those situations.. God knows people to @#$%^ and moan to me in a rude demeanor get NOTHING from me in my line of work, especially if your name is followed by a "platinum frequent flyer" advisory. Enjoy Main Cabin you free loader!!! MUHAHAHA!!! What was the topic again???

But considering what you pay for tickets now, if they get you to your destination in one piece that is all you should really expect.

But let's not deviate the topic here.

The three separate areas doesn't often work for me and I only have one kid. For one parent with three kids would be impossible. Even if you did stand in line three separate times towing your kids with you and carrying three different trays of food without spilling any or letting any of it get cold you would still have to wander around to find a table and hopefully you know to get your condiments and utensils before sitting down too. Otherwise you have to pick up all your food, gather your kids, lose your table, and find the condiment section where you wait in line to get some onions and pickles. Right now the only reason I'll eat there is because my son loves Cosmic Ray. So, I'll order something I don't necessarily like to get him food then stand around waiting for a table to open up where we can see Ray working his lounge lizard magic. That's good guest experience. But the food part isn't. I'm sure the managers at Tomorrowland Terrace have heard this before. I know there is nothing they can do about it but pass it up the flagpole to their managers. If they were to let one family order in one location and get food from all three then they would have to do that for everyone. And that would be too difficult with their current layout even if it would be best quality level service. So please, can we add a Tomorrowland Terrance makeover to the wish list?

I can't believe the amount of "carry on" stuff people haul onto planes the times I've flown this past year. It's really out of control. I wouldn't be surprised if someone tried to caryy on a bag of golf clubs. (Actually, that might be less bulky than some of the stuff I've seen). I wonder what the Witches of Morva's policy is regarding carry on items? Maybe I could hitch a ride with them to my next destination.

The mom was probably tired and a little cranky and couldn't go home or she "wouldn't get her money's worth." When you think of what it costs a family of 5 to go for the week, you can see why she thinks she should only have to stand in one line to eat at one restaurant. My mom would have us sit down with dad and she would get all the food and bring it to us, or my dad would while we got napkins and stuff and found a seat. What ever happened to giving kids limited options?!? What about telling them they can have whatever they want from the chicken section or hamburger section? I'm sorry but if you are going to have a number of children you can't cater to them like they are royalty and then get mad at a stranger because your kids couldn't compromise. While I do agree that the "system" in the eatery sounds ridiculous, it is what it is, either deal or find a restaurant that you can order what you would like without hassle...or if you are THAT frazzled, find a "sit down" place and relax, she sounds like she needed it.
