    I BBQed some chicken tonight, turned out pretty good. Although I use a gass grill, I've seen my mother go from a pile of cold charcoal and some uncooked food to a complete yummy meal to know it's not just "man cooking"!

    Not a farm raised animal, but so far as I know there's no shortage. If memory serves (and it may not, lol) every year in South Dakota (or maybe Montana) there is a huge rattle snake roundup. They bag tens of thousands of those suckers, milk them for venom, make hat bands and belts and for all I know they may even soak them in tequila and BBQ 'em.

    I remember when I was a kid we were camping in the dessert and someone killed a rattler with a shovel (chopped its head off, yuck!). Since it was under my aunt and uncle's trailer my aunt cooked it up and made my cousins eat it for dinner. I was 4 or 5 and *thrilled* not to be invited for dinner that night!

    I like the taste and the consistency is great. When they are soaked in tequila and other spices they can become very tender and wonderful. (I don't eat the skin, obviously, that's the chewy, rubbery part, so I've heard)
