I just want to say that I really think that the Disney Resort really has done a great job this year for Halloween.

The DCA make over is really fun especially the Car's Land makeover. Not to mention the new overlay for tower of terror.

They have also put entertainment into the Downtown Disney area:

It just goes to show that you can be entertaining without all the over the top blood and gore.

I'm not sure what will be going on for Halloween 2071, but I hope I'll be around to take part in it! :p

Looks like they did a nice job, similar to the first couple years they had Halloweentime at DLR. Back then, the focus was at least as much on DCA as DL, but during DCA's reconstruction they didn't want to worry about additional crowding (and didn't have anywhere to put the existing Halloween decorations anyway) so they abandoned it completely for that park. It's great to see that DCA is embracing it once again, and even DTD is getting into things

That said, as various rumors have suggested, this seems like they're trying to shift the focus from DL to DCA in preparation for the Star Wars crowds, so they can tone down the seasonal rush (and move the upcharge parties back to DCA) at DL. Not that it's a bad thing, just an interesting strategy

I also have been reading the listening to podcasts that have been saying the same thing.

It also make sense that they cannot really close down Disneyland for a Halloween party once Star Wars opens up. I think that there would be riots if they tried to do this. Also by adding more Halloween to the DCA it will make it much more attractive place to hold the parties.

Can you imagine how popular it would be to add a “villains” version of the World of Color?

What else would you like to see added to the Halloween at the DCA?

We went to the Halloween party at DCA for 3 years. We really liked it then with the talking scarecrows and wandering pirates. (Think we will ever see a $19 pricetag again?)

Hmm. 2071. By then I'll be 109, and lucky if I'm not one of the ghosts.

But as to over-the-top blood and gore, well, all those "Knott's Scary Farm" spots make me wonder what Walter and Cordelia would have thought of it. They probably would have had mixed reactions to the current state of the whole Knott's enterprise.

Let us be thankful that Disney values their wholesome image. (Even when they release a movie that gets a bit "blue," and/or a bit explicit, e.g., Outrageous Fortune, they do it in a wholesome way) Although I still prefer the old HM "folk backstory" with the double-suicide that tied the DL HM to PotC, to the new official "axe-murdering bride" backstory.
