It is a good question regarding a block out pass day. I have never needed to purchase one before so I can't answer out of personal experience.

The main gate computer keeps track between first time or subsequent entries to each park. It also feeds that information to the FP system.

My guess is that you wouldn't need one. The computer registers your AP as you enter for the day. If you are blocked out and present a block out pass, it would make sense that the computer will remember that fact.

The reason I needed to know is because my DS cannot have hand stamps and it takes time to put him on the list, have it checked at the gate, etc. We had to do this before we got our AP's and I was hoping we wouldn't have to go through this again on a busy Saturday.

think we would need handstamps with our AP's. But as far as I have read, that weekend doesn't get to that point, so I hope not. :) I was wondering if we would generally need handstamps when using a block out pass on a normal day. I had no clue as to what the procedure was.

On this past NYE, when we entered the gate, the CM explicitly told us that we would need hand stamps to get back in. So, I think no hands stamps for APs is the normal policy and hand stamps for APs is put into effect on capacity days.

I'm not so sure about this. The computer could be set up in a couple of ways. If the AP is blocked by the computer, but the blockout day pass overrides that, does that information actually get recorded in the computer for that day, or is it just a transaction at the gate? In other words, does the computer remember when you use your blockout pass the first time, or do you need to always show both passes to re-enter on a given day?

If it was a choice between having to pull out both passes as opposed to getting a stamp, I'd go ahead and get the stamp. Interesting question, though.

My DS is allergic to the dye in the handstamps and like I mentioned here earlier, I would have to get him put on a special list which they have to check at the gate.....etc. I am trying to avoid this if possible.
