We use both natural soap and the reg brands ivory , dove ...they work well. Hand sanitizers are susposed to be used after you wash your hands, not before. Did you know that those hand dryers in the washrooms put back 60 per cent of the bacteria back onto your hands after you use them. A hospital study some years ago, showed this to be true..we still look for the paper towels.

I thought the antibacterial hand sanatizer was pointless anyway unless is has a certain % of alcohol to kill other stuff too. I think I read somewhere that the soap or sanitizer is not the main thing to keep you germ free anyway it is the rubbing your hands together and then rinsing them in the water that does most of the work. I mean in a pinch when you have nothing else by all means use the hand sanitzer. If the rest rooms are really dirty and I dont want to touch the sinks I have just used hand sanitizer before though.

I do keep sanitizer in the barn for times when I am moving from one animal to the other and do not want to transfer bacteria; but that is more for their protection than mine. I make sure not to touch my face and wash my hands as soon as I get inside regardless. I agree that this mom is teaching her kids a poor lesson in sanitation.
