In honor of your Birthday I want to list out my top 5 favorite WDW things. Starting at #5

    5) The Monorail - the dream of a futuristic transportation system that is still amazing after all these years. Watching it go in and out of the Contemporary is one of my favorite sights

    4) The Waterways - Some friends and I rented a boat a couple of weeks back and just traveled the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Beautiful scenery and a great reminder of the master plan that WDW was when it opened so long ago

    3) Carousel of Progress - Saw it at the NY Worlds Fair, then Disneyland and now WDW. Was also a manager of the area for a bit so I have a long history of this attraction. Always makes me think of Walt Disney

    2) EPCOT Center- The dream of the future has dimmed as Disney has struggled to figure out how to keep something looking forward when the world moves so quickly. The sheer scope of the project, the beauty of World Showcase and some vestiges of some of the original attractions continues to make this my all time favorite park.

    1) The Train Station and Main Street USA. There is nothing more thrilling to walk up to the turnstiles and look up at the train station. Then you proceed through the tunnel and Town Square opens before you. A few steps further you see Main Street on all sides of you with the exception of the Castle at the far end of the street. You have been transported to a new world. There is nothing like it.

    Your turn.

ORWEN: I think I'd rather have a Krispy Kreme donut instead of cake, by the way...

At Disneyland, every July 17th the CM's wear special birthday buttons and they have a wonderful ceremony in the Town Square with bands and characters and performers and they play Walt's opening day speech over the loudspeakers. It's always a wonderful day.

At WDW? It's like the cubicles in TDO don't have October 1st printed on their calendars, and if it isn't connected to a new DVC tower or the latest Fastpass lane no one cares about it in TDO.

That's interesting. And kind of sad for Disney World.

And I'm sure the folks in TDO know the significance of October 1. It's the first day of the new fiscal year. : )
